Your Homebrew Game Odyssey Begins Now
Wan Khu is a constructed language, or conlang, that was created by Dave Allwein in 2021. A language taking inspiration from English, Dutch, German as well as Mandarin and Japanese, Wan Khu has been used in several real-world situations.

The second story in the book series The Legend of Poo Panties the Cat was translated into Wan Khu. The title is Uuntrvii lunk breerns en Frukhti.

Additionally, Wan Khu has become the de facto language of the moon. In February 2024, YÄ« tái yóuxì Software Company developed a demo NES / Famicom game for the ByteOff IV development challenge. The game that was developed was an RPG titled HouYi Shot the Suns, a title that was loosely based on several themes relating to the classic Chinese tale.

In HouYi Shot the Suns, there's a scene where the protagonist drinks the immortality potion found in the secret cave; as a result he leaves the earth and floats up to the moon to continue his adventure.

On the moon, HouYi discovers the Jade Rabbit as well as a colony of rabbits. These creatures all speak using Wan Khu and HouYi can't understand them, until finding a scroll and becoming enlightened to their language later in the game.
As far as we are aware, YÄ« tái yóuxì Software Company's demo is the first time a fully functioning conlang has made it into an eight-bit Nintendo game. There are plans for an adventure game written in Wan Khu to be released sometime in the future!
