The Legend of Poo Panties the Cat is a series of children's picture books, written by Thomas A. and Thomas L. Allwein, a father-son team. Allwein and Allwein would initially dictate stories to pass the time about the imaginary adventures Poo Panties, a plush ginger cat, shared with his forest friends. It was then suggested that these oral stories should be turned into books, and the rest is history!

Although lighthearted and fun in nature, many of the stories are loosely based on situations and scenarios Thomas L. experienced while growing up. Thomas L. identifies with Willie, the boy protagonist, as they are both on the autistic spectrum. While primarily set in rural America, some stories also take Willie and Poo Panties the cat across the globe! 

The Legend of Poo Panties the Cat has been used as ESL classes in kindergartens across Taiwan.
